Short CV
Maria Mircea did her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in mathematics at the Technical University of Munich (2012-2018). The focus was on mathematical models in biology. Her Master’s thesis was at the Helmholtz Center in Munich at the Institute of Computational Biology, where she used neural networks for single-cell RNA sequencing data (scRNA-seq). Afterward, she did her Ph.D. in Biophysics at Leiden University (2018-2022). She used statistical analysis of scRNA-seq data and mathematical models to understand in vitro stem cell differentiation. Since October 2022, she has joined the group of Jan Hasenauer at the University of Bonn.
