Carolina is a PhD student at the Hasenauer Lab, where she develops robust statistical frameworks for the analysis of complex biological data, with a focus on measurement error correction, Bayesian modeling, longitudinal data analysis and machine learning. Her application areas include multi-omics data analysis, biomarker discovery in infectious diseases and protein cleavage-site prediction. She holds degrees from Universidad Católica (Ecuador) and the University of Bonn, where she specialized in econometrics and computational statistics. In Fall 2025 she was a visiting scholar in the research group of Evelina Tacconelli at the University of Verona.
