Marc Vaisband studied Mathematics at the University of Bonn, with a focus on stochastics and numerical analysis. In particular, he completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. theses in the field of KPZ theory with Prof. Patrik Ferrari; on the hydrodynamical limit of the Totally Asymmetric Simple Exclusion process, and the continuum statistics of the Airy2 process, respectively. Afterwards, he decided to pursue applications of mathematics in bioinformatics and medicine, and in June 2020 began his PhD under Prof. Hasenauer, also at the University of Bonn, in a position funded by the Salzburg Cancer Research Institute. His main interests lie in machine learning algorithms and their applications to biomedical problems. He's an avid reader of xkcd and The Economist, and takes great pleasure in piano and photography.
