Martin studied Economathematics (M. Sc.) at the University of Cologne, with a six month stay at the Université de Montréal (Canada). He did his PhD in Applied Mathematics with focus on numerical mathematics and high-performance computing. After a PostDoc at the CERFACS in Toulouse, France, where he worked on geometrical multigrid for plasma fusion applications, he joined the German Aerospace Center where he leads the team of “Predictive Simulation Software” in the Institute for Software Technology (100% until 02/24, 50% now). In March 03/24, he joined the University of Bonn to lead the team of “ Mathematical-Epidemiological Modeling”.
